| My name is Kevin Kraska, and I am the owner of this small business, Tricky Tics. Most of what I sell is made in India or Indonesia, although I am constantly expanding my business as time passes and sales increase.
I started wholesaling and retailing clothing in late 1998 after meeting a fellow while on my honeymoon in Maine. I had been making and selling tie-dyed shirts at the time, but found it was too labor-intensive and just wasn't where my heart was at. He suggested I try my hand at selling imported clothing and see if I liked it. Well, I've found I do enjoy it! I especially like meeting people at festivals, shows, and the shop owners I wholesale to. They are a great bunch of people, and I'm always fascinated at how many great connections I make in the course of just doing business with folks.
With each person I have ordered from, I ask under what conditions the people who make the clothes are working and if they are making a livable wage. Everyone I deal with has been very open about sharing their experiences visiting the manufacturing sites, and one company I deal with actually has the manufacturing site run by family members over in India while they sell the clothes in the states. Short of flying over to India, Guatemala, Indonesia, Bali, etc... to see for myself (which I plan on doing someday) rest assured that I have checked this out and feel confident in the product I am selling and its "lineage". This may not be important to some of you, but it is to me so I share it here for you as well.
One thing you should know, as you browse through my storefront, is that I buy almost all on-sale items so that I can turn them around to you at a very reasonable price, wholesale or retail. Because of this, of course, some items I have are on close-out, and I won't be able to reorder them once they're gone. Some things I may be able to get in different colors or patterns, some I may not. Your best bet is to e-mail me with questions before you order to let me know what you are looking for, and I will respond with what's available.
